Dance Troupe - View the dance troupe video at the bottom of this page

Students and teachers founded the Merion Mercy Liturgical Dance Troupe as a unique means to express Christian faith and spirituality through dance at school masses and liturgies. Later, an interest developed to present other forms of dance such as jazz, hip-hop, and tap for school concerts, assemblies, and community events. In addition to providing liturgical dance at liturgies, the troupe performs at Carol Night, the Christmas Concert, and the Spring Performing Arts Show. Many members of the troupe are also featured in Merion Mercy Music Theater productions.

Dance Troupe is open to any student with at least five years of formal dance training in ballet and jazz. Members are required to perform in liturgical dances throughout the year as a service to the school community. They may also participate in modern dance numbers, as well, but not exclusively. Although the Troupe is non-competitive in nature, try-outs are held in the fall and spring semesters.

Rehearsals are held every Tuesday from 3:20 - 4:45 p.m. Additional rehearsals are scheduled as needed.
